Most people seem to think that you can only get varicose veins in your legs, which is not true. In fact, varicose veins can occur in many other parts of your body. These include your abdomen, pelvic, vulvar and uterus. Varicose veins can even occur on the face. Finding a varicose veins cure is vital.

Varicose Veins In The Legs

Varicose veins are enlarged swollen veins that appear close to the surface of the skin and are deep blue or purple in color. They are usually unsightly, and caused by malfunctioning veins. Although any vein can become varicose, but veins most commonly affected are those found in the legs and feet. The reason for this is because as people stand and walk, they are in upright positions. This increases pressure in the veins of the lower body which causes damage to the veins.

Abdominal Varicose Vein

Abdominal varicose vein is basically the same as varicose veins in your legs, only that it is located in your abdominal region. The appearance of the affected veins themselves is also the same. Thus you should be able to tell if you have varicose veins on your abdomen.

There is a garment available especially for persons suffering from varicose veins in the groin and upper thigh areas of the body, including the abdominal area. This garment can be worn by those suffering from abdominal varicose vein to find some relief from the condition.

Pelvic Varicose Veins

Pelvic varicose veins usually happen during pregnancy. During pregnancy, there is an increase in the level of hormones and amount of blood passing through the veins, which can cause swelling in the pelvic region. This in turn can result in pelvic varicose veins.

As untreated pelvic varicose veins can lead to chronic pelvic pain, you should have them checked out by your doctor as soon as you notice them.

Very small pelvic varicose veins you might be treated with lotions or creams that you can apply to your skin to help shrink the veins. If you have bounteous or more palpable pelvic varicose veins, you haw demand to reflect some singularity of surgery, to amusement the posed varicose veins. This will avoid you from experiencing severe pelvic pain. Your doctor will be able to offer you a number of different treatment options for your pelvic varicose veins. Make an appointment with your doctor today to determine which course of treatment will be suitable for you.

Vulvar Varicose Vein

The increase in the level of hormones as well as the amount of blood passing through the veins during pregnancy, and the enlarging of the uterus puts extra pressure on the vulvar resulting in varicose veins.

Many grouping describe moment from fanny varicose veins with durable all-purpose briefs, lycra cycle underpants, digit pairs of solid drawers or unintelligent antiseptic pads.

Another type of relief from vulvar varicose veins you can try is by wearing the V Brace. It is a support brace worn like underwear that will give you extra support to help with vulvar varicose vein. This adjustable brace can also help with back aches, leg aches and other symptoms associated with vulvar varicose veins.

These vulvar varicose veins will usually disappear after your pregnancy. If these vulvar varicose veins persist after your pregnancy, you may need surgery to remove them.

You can also try lying down on your left side when you sleep at night. This will help to prevent this uncomfortable condition, because the area that is generally affected by vulvar varicose veins is located on the right side of the body. Propping yourself up with pillows during your sleep to prevent you from rolling onto your right side, will help to minimize your risk of getting vulvar varicose veins during your pregnancy.

Varicose Veins On The Uterus

Doctors will routinely check for varicose veins on the uterus in most women, especially pregnant women. If your doctor has told you that you have varicose veins on your uterus, but has not suggested any treatment, it is most likely because he is not concerned about the possibility of complications to your condition.

If you are worried though, it will be a good idea to ask your doctor about the varicose veins on your uterus periodically. This will ensure that they have not progressed to a point where you should seek treatment. If the condition begins to cause you any sort of discomfort or pain, mention it to your doctor as soon as possible so he can advise you on the best choice of treatment.

If you are worried about having your varicose veins removed by surgery, fear not because there are many non-medical and natural remedies for treating varicose veins now available. As the world moves toward looking for healthier and more natural choices when it comes to our bodies, doctors and researchers continue to find more ways to offer natural and non-medical treatment for various ailments.

However, non medical treatments are more effective for milder cases of varicose veins. Some of these treatments are:

1) Acupuncture and Acupressure

2) Aromatherapy

3) Hydrotherapy

4) Compression Stockings

5) Massage

6) Exercise

7) Healthy Diet

 Vitamins

These methods also work very well in preventing varicose veins.

Acupuncture and Acupressure

They are effective, but only for the appearance of the veins. Both these procedures will help to keep the veins from worsening, but unfortunately cannot help them to disappear completely.

Aromatherapy

This is an excellent scale among the open conduct for varicose veins, as the oils can help with the bunion that may appear with varicose veins. Massaging the area around the veins with certain oils, can help reduce the size of the veins as well as reduce swelling.

Hydrotherapy

Alternating between hot and cold baths can help with the blood circulation. This is another one of the best accepted remedies for varicose veins as damaged veins are usually associated with bad circulation. It is generally easy to do this treatment at home.

Compression Stockings

For a person suffering from varicose veins temporarily, such as while pregnant, compression can be used as a non medical treatment . This might also be true for someone that is mildly affected with varicose veins.

For people who are suffering with a more severe case of varicose veins, compression stockings can be prescribed by their doctors. These stockings can often be purchased at a medical supply store or at a full service pharmacy. The compression stockings for varicose vein treatment range in price from about $50 to $100, depending on the size and style.

These stockings tighten the most at the ankle, and gradually deliver less pressure as it stretches over the knee and towards the thigh. This results in forcing of blood along its natural course despite the damage to the veins. These stockings are not everlasting however, and even the prescription stockings will need to be replaced after a few months of regular use.

Massage

There are several different massage techniques to treat varicose veins. Massage works very well because it makes your skin tender and thus prevent you from getting varicose veins.

Even if you already have varicose veins, the massage can still work wonders for you. It can help to get rid of varicose veins that are already on your skin if you suffer from mild varicose veins.

Exercise

The most important part of non medical treatment for varicose veins is exercise. In fact it is a vital part of maintaining a healthy and balanced body. Exercise gets the blood flowing normally which helps greatly with blood circulation. Besides aerobic exercise, yoga has also been noted as another important aspect of exercise which can be used to treat varicose veins.

Healthy Diet

As with anything that is health related diet plays a big part in treating varicose veins. Make sure that you include plenty of fiber, vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as zinc in your diet. These are just some of the elements that will help you in treating varicose veins.

By maintaining a healthy lifestyle, you can also prevent varicose veins from occurring in the first place. Always make sure that you maintain a healthy diet which will promote general health and wellbeing for your whole body.

Vitamins

Vitamins are important elements in preventing and treating varicose veins. They are more effective when used in addition to other treatments such as compression stockings. Although natural supplements are not often known to have ill effects, especially those available for mass distribution, some have been found to interact badly with other medications. So, if you do decide to have surgery after all, for your varicose veins, you need to let your doctor know about any supplements that you are currently taking.

The most important varicose vein vitamins you should take regularly to treat varicose veins are A, C, E, B6, and K. In addition, you should also take bioflavoniods and fiber as they are also important for your overall health.

Skin irritations and allergic reactions are sometimes serious, and most of the time, uncomfortable forms of allergic disorder. It is caused by a reaction in the immune system and can take different forms, with different causes. The most common skin irritations and allergic reactions today are atopic dermatitis, angioedema, allergic contact dermatitis and urticaria.

Atope dermatitis is also called eczema and is a skin irritation that affects mostly the face, elbows and knees. The most prominent symptom here is itching that can be intense sometimes. The lesions here tend to scale and flake over time while there may be oozing with bacterial or viral infections start here with scratching. To cure dermatitis, it is important to first identify the antigen. The most common triggers are emotional stress, allergens, overheating or sweating, some foods and contact with some irritants like soaps, pets, wools and other agents.

With angioedema, you find swelling in the deeper skin layers and it is sometimes connected with hives. There is no itching or redness here; while the allergy takes place in soft tissue like the mouth, genitals and eyelids.
Urticaria is hives and is red and very itchy. The swelling of the skin on the body ranges in size, and may appear anywhere on the body. Acute cases of hives are associated with viral infections, food, drugs or latex which can go away with or without medical intervention or removal of the trigger. In fact, there are some people who suffer from chronic hives practically everyday, for months and years. The trigger for these people may be various circumstances like scratching, pressure and nerves where the elimination of the trigger does not have much effect on the course of the allergy.

Skin irritations and allergic reactions such as allergic contact dermatitis are triggered when the skin comes in contact with some allergic substance. This reaction starts after a day or two where the skin becomes red, itchy and inflamed. Sometimes, there may also be blisters. The most common cause for this skin irritation is poison ivy; but other plants, cosmetics, medications and metals can also trigger a reaction. It is possible to treat allergic contact dermatitis by scrubbing the affected area with soap and water after its exposure to the allergen. Sometimes it may be necessary to take some prescribed antihistamine and cortisone medications, depending on the severity of the skin condition.

The best remedies for skin irritations and allergic reactions are witch hazel that acts as astringent that can relieve itchy skin rashes. It is also be used for treating sunburn. St. John's Wort is effective in treating skin irritations and allergic reactions with its astringent properties. Aloe vera is another herb used for treating minor skin irritations as it produces anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and anti fungal properties. Besides this, jewel weed and wild pansy are some herbs that are effective in treating skin irritations and allergic reactions.

The following fact is a surprise to most people, including most MD’s

Most mental disease is caused by unsuspected brain allergies!

This fact was illuminated for me by Dr Marshall Mandell in the early 80’s. He appeared on the Phil Donahue show, with videos of persons with mental problems caused or worsened by allergen testing. He was the first to name such as “brain allergies”. Since there are no “physical” symptoms such as hay fever, hives, etc, few people are even aware of them as a problem. I have never tested anyone without finding some allergies!

In 1982, Dr Von Hilsheimer introduced the first End-Point-Titration allergy testing into Florida, and I worked with him at an allergy clinic in Orlando. The staff of MD allergists were amazed by when we “cured” several cases of ADD or ADHD, depression, and more.

During that time, I studied allergy/sensitivity extensively. I found a list of mental diseases caused by allergens that surprised me. None of my previous experience and learning in psychology had prepared me for such. I found the following in a “standard” text on allergies as “Mental Symptoms”. It will probably surprise you.

Schizophrenia, depression, hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD), Emotional instability or hypersensitivity, Insomnia, Chronic fatigue, crying jags, stuttering, excessive daydreaming, anxiety, panic attacks, withdrawn, listless, seizures, aggressive behavior, anger, irritability, silly, tense, restless, excited, agitated, behavior problems in children, difficulty concentrating, memory loss, poor comprehension, confusion, impaired attention, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behavior, feelings of unreality, disorientation, false beliefs or delusions, hallucinations, suicidal, feel like hurting self.

I was introduced to the latest EEG biofeedback therapy of raising the amplitude of the brain waves just above Alpha (now called SMR - 12-15 Hz) while giving a 4 day seminar to MD’s in Tbilisi, Soviet Georgia. (later named the SMR brain wave) In the discussion that followed, I remembered that list of mental diseases caused by allergens. I then proposed the following theory: “Raising the SMR brain wave somehow gradually changes the affect of allergens on the brain. At present, there is no other theory to fit the data.

I started the first company to lease EEG BF equipment for home use in the US in December 2000 upon return to the US.. As you can imagine this did not endear me to the clinicians who were charging up to $250 per half hour for the service. The actual operation is so simple that anyone with a high school education can easily learn how to do it, although the learned clinicians will (as usual) protest the necessity of a professional approach. (This in spite of no record of harm being done to anyone, and no license being required to practice this simple therapy.)

In 2001, Dr Jiri Tyrl of the Czech Biofeedback Society listed papers about EEG biofeedback that showed the following mental diseases as being either cured or greatly improved by this feedback:

Epilepsy; ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Academic-Cognitive Enhancement; Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Sleep Disorders, Depression, Hemispheric Asymmetry, Anger, Addictive Disorders, Brain Injury, Stroke, Coma, Spasticity, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Autoimmune Dysfunctions, Headache and other Pain, Schizophrenia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Parkinson’s Dystonia, Tourette’s Syndrome, Autism; Cognitive Decline with Aging, Asthma Hypertension Dissociative Disorders, Creativity, Optimal Functioning, Criminal Recidivism.

Compare the two lists, and it’s clear that the two cover virtually all mental problems. To me, that was further proof that my original theory (above) is correct.

In 2004, one of those comic light bulbs went on above my head, and I realized that it should be possible to do the same thing - namely raise the SMR brain wave - by use of subliminal messaging.

I put out a call for volunteers, and got over 20, who sent me weekly emails for 4 weeks. Most were various types of ADD or ADHD, with a few depressives and insomniacs mixed in.Both my allergen and my subliminal usage theories were anecdotally proved as correct. Interesting sidelight - three of the volunteers were former users of EEG Biofeedback that hadn’t improved with that, also “failed” with this therapy.

In 6 more volunteer tests since that time, we have shown that this therapy (named Neuroliminal Training) is at least as effective as EEG Biofeedback (aka Neurofeedback) for ADD or ADHD, depression, insomnia, autism, and epilepsy.

A current test that includes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Depression of all types, etc will be concluded in early 2009. This test will end in January 2009.

Dr Bate is a retired orthomolecular psychologist who invented Neuroliminal Training, a simpler and
affordable way to change brain wave amplitudes solving
ADD-Autism, depression, insomnia, and more.
http://drbate.com – http://Neuroliminal.com

With the proper guidance from health professionals, these symptoms, if not avoided, can be prevented. As soon as early signs of these symptoms are detected, action plans should be taken early so needful treatments can be applied.

Asthma attack symptoms are easily recognized. Among these symptoms include the increase in urination, thirstiness, and irritation of the throat and nose. These symptoms commonly occur before asthma attacks. However, not all asthmatic persons would experience similar severity of symptoms.

Just the same, it may always vary depending on the peculiar pattern of the early signs of symptoms. If not properly treated, these symptoms can lead to severe distress of the respiratory system.

Among the common asthma attack symptoms that are identified, are shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. Exhaling and wheezing are the actual symptoms seen during an asthma attack. These symptoms begin with rapid breathing whereas the respiratory airways of the person are tightened and constricted. During the attack, all the breathing muscles inside the body will become visibly active.

Chest pain or tightness is usually the first asthma attack symptoms experienced by an asthmatic person. It normally happens to about 75% of the asthmatic population. Its intensity may depend on the kind of asthma that the person has.

A cough is usually marked at the end of every asthma attack where the cough is producing stringy and thick mucus. If the asthma attack is acute, then the inflammation inside the respiratory airways can only persist for about a few days or even several weeks.

Lethargy is also one of those common asthma attack symptoms. It refers to the feeling of tiredness, which is quite usual for asthmatic persons. It is the result of some sleep patterns that are interrupted, availability of oxygen to the blood and body tissues, and building up of muscular lactic acid, which then result in generalized fatigue of the muscles.

Comfrey, one of the most valuable herbs known to botanical medicine, has been used for centuries to heal. It is full of amino acid, lysine, B12, and vitamins A and C as well as high in calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and protein. Additionally, it contains iron, magnesium, sulphur, copper, zinc, and eighteen amino acids. Echinacea is an herb that stimulates immunity within the body and increases its ability to fight infections. It includes vitamins A, E, and C, as well as iron, iodine, copper, sulphur, and potassium. Fennel is used to help stabilize the nervous system and move waste material out of the body.

It also has properties to help against convulsions and mucous and contains potassium, sulphur, and sodium. Garlic acts to rejuvenate the body in all of its functions as it stimulates the lymphatic system to help rid the body of toxins. This herb contains vitamin A and C, selenium, sulphur, calcium, manganese, copper, vitamin B1, iron, potassium, and zinc.

Along with the above herbs, there are others that are good for helping with herpes. Ginger is very effective in its ability to cleanse the bowels, kidneys, and skin and contains protein, vitamins A, C, and B complex, as well as calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Mullein loosens mucus within the body and moves it out of the body. It is high in iron, magnesium, potassium, and sulphur and also contains vitamins A, D, and B complex. Sweet birch cleanses the blood and is extremely high in fluoride. It also contains vitamins A, C, E, B1, and B2, and calcium, chlorine, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and silicon. Thyme, which destroys fungal infections and skin parasites, has B complex, vitamins C and D, and iodine, sodium, silicon, and sulphur. White willow is also helpful in herpes, as it has a strong antiseptic ability for infected wounds, ulcerations, and eczema.

Along with all of the above herbs, there are many herbs that help protect and build the nervous system, which is closely related to the immune system. These herbs include: alfalfa, dandelion, fenugreek, gotu kola, hops, kelp, lady’s slipper, lobelia, parsley, passion flower, skullcap, wood betony, and red clover. Additionally, there are many herbs for circulation, which increase blood supply to the heart muscles and entire body. Good circulation is crucial for a healthy immune system and can be improved with capsicum, garlic, gentian root, hawthorn berries, kelp, licorice root, and lecithin.

Because the glands regulate many major body functions, these functions often interrelate with the circulatory and nervous systems. Some glandular herbs include: golden seal, Siberian ginseng, burdock, Echinacea, sarsaparilla, black walnut, chaparral, and red clover blossoms. Along with the above, there are several herbs that help with the skin, which can be extremely beneficial to those who are dealing with herpes.

Red marine algae is a natural algae that grows in the ocean. This algae is harvested by many countries including China, Japan, and the United States. marina algae contains polysaccharides that can boost the immune system. These special polysaccharides stimulate the immune system to fight viruses and disease which can help fight herpes.

Among these herbs is aloe vera, which helps to clean, soothe, and heal the skin as it contains calcium, potassium, sodium, manganese, magnesium, iron, lecithin, and zinc. Also, comfrey, golden seal, myrrh, bayberry, and oat straw are all good herbs for the skin. As you can see these herbs are loaded with vitamins, minerals and polysaccharides which are essential to the body to keep the immune system strong and the body able to fight off viruses and disease.

Tetanus shots are given for healing of dog bites, deep wounds and for wounds inflicted by iron objects. This tetanus shot is basically an inactivated toxoid that is made by growing tetanus bacteria and then purifying and inactivating the resultant toxin. Tetanus shots are available as single vaccines; however it is usually given together with diphtheria vaccine. They are collectively referred to as DT and Td.

Another famous combination is DTaP and Tdap that includes tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccines. Tetanus shots are administered in the muscle of the body; usually in the arm or the thigh. It is important to store the tetanus vaccine in a refrigerator before giving it.

There are not many people who experience allergic reactions to tetanus shots. Sometimes, there are some people who show allergic reactions to tetanus shots with fever that is more than 102 F, severe headache or severe gastrointestinal problems. However, it is extremely rare to find people complaining of nervous system problems and allergic reactions to tetanus shots.

Occasionally, there may be cases of localized allergic reactions that constitute redness and swelling at the place of the injection. However, anaphylaxis which is life threatening and other allergic reactions to tetanus shots are very rare with tetanus shots. At times there may be edema, erythema and swelling that are considered to be milder forms of allergic reactions to tetanus shots.

Other allergic reactions to tetanus shots include massive local reactions in people receiving multiple booster doses of toxoid that start within 2 to 8 hours of taking the injection. When the allergic reactions to tetanus shots are marked or the antitoxin levels are high, there may at times be an accompanying fever.

It is okay and advisable for most people to take tetanus shots on schedule. However, when the risks of the vaccination outweigh the benefits, you should not take the tetanus shots. Such people are those with life threatening allergic reactions to DTP, DTaP, Td, DT or Tdap vaccine.

Even those having severe allergic reactions to tetanus shots, and those who have gone into a coma or seizure within seven days of taking a dose of DTP or DTaP, are not advised to take tetanus shots. Moreover, in some people, the Thimerosal that is used as a preservative for tetanus shots can at times induce delayed type hypersensitivity in their bodies.

However, serum sickness-like illnesses are a rarity with people taking tetanus toxoid. Nevertheless, it is better to talk to your doctor if you have an allergy to latex, epilepsy, severe swelling and pain or any other nervous system problem.

Alzheimers is one of the few diseases that is not caused by lifestyle abuses, cares nothing about race, but can cause destruction generation-wide. It is such a debilitating disease, I hope they find a cure soon. Alzheimers is just one disease that causes dementia, memory loss. Alzheimers is a terrible way to end a life. Alzheimer’s is a sad disease as it is, and is hard to watch loved ones going through it. Alzheimers is the most common cause of dementia (artery disease, Parkinson’s and other brain disorders can also lead to dementia). Alzheimers is a neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells in the brain. Alzheimers is the leading cause of dementia in people over the age of 65 and affects over 300,000 people. It is a Chromosome disease, so it is one the is difficult to cure because you would have to change the persons DNA to prevent it.

About 47% of the elderly over age 85 suffer from Alzheimers and is the commonest reason for someone to be admitted to a nursing home. The disease does not discriminate between races. It does appears to affect more women than men simply for the reason that they tend to live longer.

There are three stages to Alzheimer’s.

Stage one
This stage which last about two to four years, consist of subtle changes, such as a lack of energy and a zest for life. Also there is a lack of humor, decreased interest in family life, friends sports and other favorite pastimes. The first stage also shows the beginning of a loss of short term memory though past memories may remain unaffected. Toward the end of this stage, the person may not be able to hold a job, carry out most daily tasks or organize time and dates.

Stage Two
This stage may last several years and is characterized by extreme confusion and difficulty in coping with new situation since long term memory fails and is gradually erased from the mind. The patient will still recognize familiar faces and perhaps latch on to one or two in a last grasp to retain some sanity. Many functions must be given up- driving most obviously. The patients may babble since they lose track of not only other conversations, but their own. wandering and getting lost are more frequent. Some call this. Sun-downing, which is a phenomenon associated with extreme restlessness, agitation and wandering. This may become a daily occurrence usually around four o’clock in the afternoon.

Stage Three
In this stage, perhaps lasting only one or two years, the deterioration is virtually complete. The victim cannot remember faces- even his/her own. The overall nervous system regulating bodily functions is damaged so greatly that incontinence, difficulty in coordinating body movements and sometimes seizures results. The patient becomes emaciated to the point of a vegetative state.

To see a family member go thru these stages and knowing there is nothing you can do is both emotionally draining and traumatic for both sufferer and family members alike. To witness the “Death of the Mnd Before the Death of the Body” is very heart wrenching.

Caring for a family member with this disease literally places additional stress on you as the caregiver. So the more you know and understand about Alzheimers the better is for you and your family enabling you to cope with this devastating disease.
