Simple Steps To Avoid Allergic Reactions
Allergies are both annoying, costly and at times embarrassing, so here are some ways in which you are able to limit the affect of allergic reactions on your life:
Lets’ start really simple. Vaccum your living and work premises frequently. Occassionally allergies are caused by the air disturbance created from cleaning, however cleaning a few times per week overall can really help reduce the affects of allergies in the long run. Try to get a vacuum cleaner that comes with a built in filter. You may wish to wear a mask and actually leave the house for a couple of hours after cleaning, whilst the dust settles. Dusting along with vacuuming also helps reduce the number of dust mites in your house.
Think about the amount of time that you mix with pets and animals for. At least ban your pets from your bedroom as allowing them there puts you at considerable risk, do this even if they are your best friend. Clearly keep to a mimimum the time you spend with animals and also their saliva, fur, dead skin and so on.
Make sure you try to reduce the moisture level in your house. By lowering humidity levels in the bathroom and kitchen you can reduce greatly the chances of mold forming. Using a home dehumidifier is highly recommended (ebac dehumidifiers and delonghi dehumidifiers come highly recommended). Also wipe down surfaces with a mild disenfectant often and ensure that there are no pipes that leak in your house.
You would be wise to keep your doors and windows shut if you have ever noticed pollen on your window sills. Try to have your aircon running instead and use one that has an easily cleaned and changeable filter.
If you are planning a day out make sure to check the pollen count for your chosen destination. Pollen counts will be highest between 10am and 4pm so try to go outside at other times if possible. When driving ensure that the windows are firmly closed.
During periods of high wind and humidity you may prefer to stay inside as these are times when pollen and dust levels are at their highest. You can also avoid poor air quality by travelling outside of peak times. If you suffer very badly then consider wearing a face mask. Shower as soon as possible once returning home as pollen and dust may have gathered on your skin.
When going on holiday make sure that you also check the pollen count at the destination and be especially aware that you may need to take particular care when going to tropical detinations. These may have elevated levels of mold spores due to excess moisture.
You can avoid plenty of suffering by simply following these common sense guidelines.
